The deck is made from a composite material called Barracuda. Wave Zone`s extensive research and development led them to this extremely lightweight aluminized glass, which has the tensile strength of steel and the sheen of a 3D metallic. Barracuda is used in ballistic and stab proof body armor, motorcycle helmets, etc. It is revolutionary and even better than texalium, and is made in the USA.
Divinycell, a waterproof, light and durable foam, is used for the skimboard`s core, as it`s the superior choice compared to polyurethane or extruded poly styrene (EPS) foam. With the repeated impacts a skimboard takes, with these alternatives you are risking delamination and dings that take on water and rot. With divinycell you get excellent fracture toughness, high energy absorption, dimensional stability and a high strength to weight ratio, which is very important in a skimboard.
